The horns stay smooth through years of slide-on, slide-off use; the rubber end caps protect plates from scuffing and dampen any contact noise during weight changes. The wide twin-rail bolt-down base with sculpted chrome end pieces plants the tree flat to the floor without scuffing finishes; rubber foot caps keep it whisper-quiet during loading.
