Our Home Gym Design & Installation Process

How We Work.

One team handles everything from consultation to install. Four stages: consultation, 3D design, direct sourcing, delivery and install. Most residential builds run 7 to 10 weeks from quote approval to install day and start from $15,000 for equipment. Here is exactly what each stage looks like.

01 Step One

Consultation

A free 30-minute call to understand your space, your goals, and your budget. You bring the brief, we ask the questions.

We respond to consultation requests within 1 business day. Most calls happen within the same week.

Come with three things: rough room dimensions, a working budget, and an idea of your training goals. Residential builds start from $15,000 for equipment. You do not need a shopping list of specific machines. That is what the call is for.

By the end of the call we know what kind of gym you want, what fits your room, and what a realistic budget looks like.

A 50% deposit confirms the order and starts production. After the call we send one itemised quote covering equipment, shipping, and installation as a single number. Nothing is charged before you approve the quote.

02 Step Two

3D Design

We turn your room dimensions into a full 3D layout showing every piece of equipment in place. You see exactly what your gym will look like before anything is ordered.

You review the design, request changes, and give final approval. Nothing ships until you sign off.

This step catches spacing issues, equipment conflicts, and layout ideas that only show up when you can see the room. Moving the Smith to a different wall, swapping the dumbbell rack for wall storage, adding a mirror across a whole wall, all of that happens here at no extra cost.

Once you approve the layout, we lock it and place the manufacturer order. Any changes after that are locked in with the equipment being built.

03 Step Three

Direct Sourcing

Equipment is ordered directly from our manufacturer. Commercial-grade, no distributor markup. We manage the full order, production, and shipping.

Production runs 7 to 10 weeks from quote approval to install day. Your delivery date is confirmed once production begins.

Every piece is customisable at this stage: frame colour, upholstery colour, weight stack size, and branding. Branding can be left blank, set to the WE DO GYMS mark, or replaced with your own logo on commercial builds.

You do not need to be actively involved during this stage. We handle the manufacturer, freight, and customs. Progress updates come from us.

Any specification changes need to happen before the deposit is paid. Once production starts, the order is locked.

We work with a single manufacturer we have vetted over multiple builds. Consistent quality, consistent lead times, one point of contact for warranty.

FAQs

How the service works.

What's actually included in a project besides the equipment?

Design consultation, 3D room layout, direct sourcing from our manufacturer, freight to your address, delivery, assembly, and positioning. Commercial rubber flooring is spec'd into every quote where the room needs it. Full walkthrough on install day before we leave.

Do I see the layout of my gym before anything ships?

Yes. Every project includes a full 3D layout of your room after your consultation call. Racks, cable columns, mirrors, and flooring are placed to scale. You review the design, request any changes, and give final approval before we place the manufacturer order. There is no separate charge for it, and revisions are included until you sign off.

Where does the equipment come from and why does that matter?

Direct from our manufacturer's factory, not through a retail distributor. That means commercial-grade equipment at a lower cost than the same pieces sold through a fitness store, and a single supply chain we control from order to install.

What happens on install day?

Our crew drives to your address in a full-size cargo truck, unloads, lays flooring first if it's part of the build, then assembles and positions each piece. Everything goes down in a single day for most builds. We do a full walkthrough with you before leaving. Nothing gets signed off until you've used the room.

Do I need to prepare the space beforehand?

The room needs to be empty, dry, and accessible. We handle the rest. If flooring is being installed, the slab or subfloor needs to be clean. If your build is in a strata or high-rise, we'll walk you through what needs to be booked in advance (freight elevator, loading dock).

Can I change the equipment list after I approve the quote?

Small changes are usually workable if production hasn't started. Once your deposit is in and the order is with our manufacturer, changes get harder. That's when the equipment is being built to spec. We take the consultation seriously so the first quote is the right one.

What happens if a piece is damaged in transit or malfunctions after install?

Anything damaged in shipping gets replaced by us at no cost. Manufacturer warranty applies on all equipment; timeframes vary by piece. You call us, not the manufacturer, and we handle it.
